Last night, Lisa and I (along with our old but energetic dog Gizmo) went for an hour stroll on a loop of dirt roads from our house. We talked much of the time about the details of wedding program as the sun began to set and the wind increased a little. Only a couple of cars passed us; otherwise, the only sounds were of rivers and birds. It was just the type of evening to talk about Big Things in life.

As I’m leaving on Monday to grade AP US History exams in Louisville next week, we have not so much time left to get everything finalized. We meet with Lisa’s friend Amy (our photographer) tomorrow in West Lebanon for lunch, and on Sunday, we have an appointment with the owners of The Woods.

Last night, we discussed the vows that we want to make, both in unison and separately. Before we knew it, we had arrived home again, and while I took an Amnesty conference call, Lisa used her excellent memory to type up what we had discussed.

Todd told me that the Washington County Probate Court sent him a fancy proclamation granting him to power to officiate at the wedding.

Only three weeks to go…and we’re pulling the event together in good shape!

Something to say?
